About us

Hi, I’m Nina, a certified breathwork instructor passionate about guiding others toward healing, balance, self-connection, and spiritual discovery through the breath.

My breathwork journey began with the Wim Hof Method and ice baths, where I first discovered how powerful conscious breathing could be. From there, I explored Holotropic breathwork and finished Tim Morrison Training, which taught me a lot, but felt too intense for many. That’s when I found Soma Breath, a method that instantly felt like home.

Soma combines science, ancient wisdom, and music in a gentle, rhythmic, and accessible way. It works with your body and nervous system—never against it—and I love how it meets you exactly where you are.

I’ve been working with the body since I was 19. My path has taken me through bodybuilding, heavy weightlifting, and becoming a personal trainer. I’ve led women’s strength training, studied outdoor education, become a climbing instructor, and healed my own body through nutrition. These experiences have shaped my holistic, grounded approach to health and wellbeing.

Over the past eight years, I’ve been on a spiritual journey that’s deepened through six years of daily meditation and the last 2 years of Breathwork.

Breathwork is the beautiful bridge between the physical and the spiritual—it allows us to anchor in the body while expanding our awareness.

My mission is to teach as many people as possible the ancient, powerful art of breath. I believe breathwork is like a gym for your nervous system, and everyone should know how to use it to heal, thrive, and connect to something bigger than ourselves.

The Science Behind Breathwork

Breathwork, an age-old practice with roots in various ancient cultures, has become increasingly popular in today’s wellness world for its powerful effects on both mental and physical health. At its essence, breathwork is the intentional control of breathing patterns to influence the body and mind, supporting relaxation, clarity, and stress relief.

Scientifically, breathwork impacts the autonomic nervous system—the system responsible for regulating automatic functions such as heartbeat and digestion. By consciously adjusting the breath, we can move from the sympathetic nervous system (SNS), which is responsible for the body’s stress response ("fight or flight"), to the parasympathetic nervous system (PNS), which supports recovery, relaxation, and digestion. This shift helps lower cortisol (the stress hormone), reduce blood pressure, and promote a sense of ease and balance in the body.

Breathing techniques also directly affect the brain. Intentional breathing increases oxygen delivery to the brain, supporting better focus, emotional regulation, and mental clarity. It also triggers the release of endorphins—our natural mood boosters—helping to ease anxiety and lift mood. Deep breathing, especially when using the diaphragm, supports lung capacity and boosts oxygen flow throughout the body, contributing to overall physical wellness.

Studies in the field of psychophysiology further confirm breathwork’s benefits for mental health. Practices such as pranayama, often used in yoga, have been linked to improvements in conditions like anxiety, depression, and PTSD. Breathwork encourages mindfulness and body awareness, helping individuals to process emotions more effectively and build emotional resilience over time
